Advice You WantedLately, due to all kinds of things happening over here in my world I have googled resources that might help you in your business, work, life organizations – whatever you do. Ahem, if I’m having these issues I am betting you are, too. Seriously, this is advice you are looking for and I have culled as pretty good stuff. You didn’t ask, but I know you wanted to.

How to Stop Caring What Other People Think

I straight up had someone tell me that so and so didn’t like me and refuses to work with me. Whatever. This was a great article by Sarah at Yes and Yes ” We’ve all done hard, awesome, impressive things. Keep your accomplishments at the forefront of your mind when you’re struggling with self-doubt. Wear your awesome like a suit of armor. When you’ve done something huge and difficult, silly judgments matter less. The edges on judgment have been rounded. The barbs have been sanded down.” Keep going…

Oliver Emberton nailed it here, “If your mission is to lead, create, or better the world, surrendering to the emotional concerns of others will paralyse and kill you. Leaders that can’t make tough decisions can’t lead. Artists that can never offend anyone can never delight anyone either.” Read on… Shout out to my board president who seriously tells me this SAME advice every year. Apparently I need to hear it a lot.

#AskJackieAnything has the advice you’ve been looking for. Seriously rock work, people.

How to End a Conversation

Dude. Do you ever find yourself in person or on the phone with someone and you totally want to get going, but they are talking/whining/complaining on the other side and it there seems to be no break? Oh. Just me? Well. If you DO ever find yourself there here is great advice from The Public Speaker on how to end a conversation with grace.

Are you Pepsi to Someone Else’s Coke?

I MIGHT have some folks who aren’t all that into how I maneuver through the world. Go back up there and read Oliver’s piece if you need some insight on this. I have a few Coke’s in my Pepsi world and I realize that is just how it is, but this piece by Your Office Coach was pretty spot on. Know your frienemies, people!

Do the Four Agreements Translate to Social Media?

Jessa Hoffman wrote this great piece about translating the Four Agreements over to how you react or respond on Facebook and social media. I might actually go further into this, but this is a great starter piece. Do you not know what the Four Agreements are? What? Have you been under a rock? Here. This is the life lesson for dealing with all people and your own anxiety/monkey mind. Or go buy the book on Amazon. It’s like .30.

Work Life Balance. Is That Even Real?

I’m a big listener to Note To Self podcast and they are doing a four week series on work life balance and have a great resource for mom’s and dad’s to check out. Honestly, I only achieved this when I ran away to the country, took my own life seriously, and lived on way less money – but let me know how it’s going for you!

Getting Control of Our Week

Jack Dorsey… goodness. He theme’s his days of the week. Go. Check it out.

Should I Carry a Notebook Everywhere?

For the record. I mostly do. Because I am a paper nerd, but I wondered what other people said about it. Obviously, Richard Branson carries a notebook. Sigh. Now what kind? Suggestions?

Ok. That’s it. Thank you for entering my brain for a moment. Seriously. Those things helped. I can’t wait to try the advice on how to get out of a conversation… it’s been nice talking with you…

Is there stuff you really do want to ask? Shoot me an email and let’s answer those questions with kindness, resources and the help you need. Free… because that’s why we’re here… to do all of this better.
