Creating Content Everyday it's working
In July I decided to get myself out of a creative funk by creating content everyday. Every single day. Which is cray cray, but I knew I needed something BIG to get me to a better place. I wanted to update folks each month on how it is going and what I’ve seen as a result of this experiment.

First, what do I mean by content every day? A blog post Monday – Saturday, an Instagram post most days, Pinning 50 pins a day, a weekly email and possibly more. That is the basics of my project. This is all for my own brand. I am also teaching, leading a nonprofit organization, and doing consulting/branding work as well. Not to mention running a household with a new puppy and an ancient cat. It’s never dull around here.

mood // Most importantly, I feel better. I’m happier. I’m sleeping better. My appetite is more normal. I’m less grumpy and my outlook is positive. That is all a very big deal. Sure, numbers on websites and dollars and projects are important, but if I’m unhappy I can’t really care/do anything about those things. So, the greatest thing so far to come out of this has been my overall mental health has improved. A win!

new ideas // as you probably have seen if you have been reading for a while my look on Instagram and my boards on Pinterest have gotten sharper and more brand specific. It has been fun to figure out who I am in those spaces and see the positive response to that work.

numbers // my blog numbers are double what they were. Some posts are triple. That alone is a big deal. Why do we do all of this? We do it for people to consume and knowing more people are interested only makes it more exciting to keep going. My email newsletter has grown by 5% and I am working to continue to grow those numbers.

life // My in box is not at zero, my floors need to be mopped and I haven’t made a full blown meal with courses since I started. I spend more time at my desk then I would normally like and I am constantly jotting down notes of ideas for more content. Before bed I am pinning 50 pins on Pinterest instead of just reading, which I normally do. Not to say that any of this is bad, but it is a shift in what I was doing before.

Interested in joining this challenge? There is a small, focused Facebook group of content creators that you are welcome to join. They are very supportive. I also share what I am doing in the group for others to follow/or not.
